After seven weeks of intense challenges, competitive builds and unexpected twists, the teams on this season of Renovation Resort finished off their vacation homes with a bang. That made it even harder for hosts and judges Bryan Baeumler and Scott McGillivray to declare the Renovation Resort season 2 winners.
Although they were impressed with aspects of every teams’ builds, in the end, Orangeville, Ontario father-daughter duo Graham and Hollie won them over. The duo’s homestead heritage vacation home, inspired by a piece of artwork by Hollie’s grandmother, gave them all of the vacation vibes.
“To do it with my daughter was incredible,” says Graham. “And not knowing what the other houses looked like, that was an element of it, too, that you didn’t know anything until the end. So when they say the winner, that’s just the way it hit you. You were so happy to hear the news.”

Welcome to Your Vacation
From the moment you walk into this cabin, you get a sense that this is a special space with custom finishes and great attention to detail. In the entryway, that’s true with a custom bench setup, warm paint and homestead finishes.
The Front Room
The homestead feel continues into the front room, where calming blues await. This room doubles as an area to work (a reality for some vacationers) and a spot to hang out and read or play games. The custom bench, shelves and desk builds are more thoughtful finishes, adding to the overall quality.

The Primary Space: Bed and Bath
Who wouldn’t want to retreat into this perfectly crafted primary bedroom and ensuite? The space is bright and airy, with a luxury hotel vibe that instantly puts you at ease. The greenery brings a piece of the outdoors in, and there is plenty of storage space to unpack and relax. The primary ensuite, meanwhile, combines homestead and luxury through shiplap finishes and modern tiles.
The Great Room
Every vacation property needs a great space to hang out in, and this great room is no exception. Graham and Hollie anchored the room with this beautiful fireplace, which adds warmth and an instant focal point. The beams above add a rustic touch and tie into the mantel below, and the artwork cleverly hides a television.
Kitchen and Dining Room
When crafting a vacation property, you want to ensure the heart of the home, a.k.a. the kitchen, has enough space for everyone to hang out and includes enough seats. Graham and Hollie did everyone proud with this build, which features a practical layout, plenty of space, and more custom finishes, like the bench in the dining area.
Rec Room
Graham and Hollie maximized the lower space with this terrific rec room. It features everything vacationers need to spend time together during a rainy day or when they’ve spent too much time in the sun. There’s a lounge area with a TV to put on the game, a bar with custom finishes so that no one needs to trek up and down the stairs, and a poker table that’s perfectly themed but can double up as a regular game table when needed.

Guest Bedroom
Also below is this additional guest bedroom, which features tons of sleeping space thanks to the custom bunk bed builds. Each nook is perfectly crafted with some storage space and lighting, making it an ideal space for kids and kids-at-heart alike.
Secondary Bathroom
The rustic retreat continues in this secondary bathroom with calming green paint, additional shiplap finishes, and a restored cabinet that serves as the new vanity.
An Outdoor Oasis
The real allure of any vacation property is the outdoor space that goes with it, and Graham and Hollie understood the assignment. There is plenty of seating in every area in the back, from the lower deck to the custom fire pit. As for the homestead theme? That shines with the rustic sauna and hot tub, which add instant ambiance and value to this property.
Bonus Pavilion
So, how do you cap off a gorgeous lakefront vacation property with all the homestead feels? With a custom pavilion, of course. Here, Graham and Hollie created a natural area that inspires vacationers to sit back, relax and take in nature. It’s the perfect addition that makes this cabin a winner from the inside out, earning the father-daughter team a much-deserved win.
“It’s just truly amazing,” says Hollie of doing the show. “It was such a difficult experience, but just so much fun and very eye-opening, what we were capable of. And really amazing to do this with my dad, to be able to design and build a home with this much pressure, but be able do it successfully is so special.”
