Best Street Festivals in Toronto to Check Out This Summer

Summer is in full swing, which means there is so much to do during these sun-soaked days. One of them is checking out all the amazing street festivals around your city. Toronto, for one, is known for its summer festivals — filled with food, music, art and more.

AfroFest 

When: July 4-6 

Where: Woodbine Park, 1695 Queen St E, Toronto

Celebrating its 37th year, AfroFest is back this year delivering the biggest African music festival in North America. The 2025 fest will feature 55 performances with genres showcasing Afrobeat, Afropop, Reggae, Rumba, Amapiano and more. Local and international artists will be performing, taking over Woodbine Park for a three-day party. 

Fun Philippines Toronto Food and Music Festival 

When: July 4-6 

Where: Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West, Toronto

For the ultimate Filipino celebration, the Fun Philippines Toronto Food and Music Festival has you covered. Taking over the waterfront at Harbourfront Centre, there will be tons of street vendors, authentic Filipino dishes and live performances of traditional dances and musical performances by artists.

Salsa on St. Clair 

When: July 5 and 6

Where:  St. Clair Avenue West between Winona Drive and Christie Street

Get ready to break out those dance moves and head on down to Salsa on St. Clair. The annual summer fest is Canada’s number one Latino-themed cultural celebration that transforms St. Clair Avenue West into a huge salsa party featuring music, food and lots of dancing. 

Big on Bloor Fest 

When: July 19-20 

Where: Bloor Street West between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue

A pedestrian takeover is happening from July 19 and 20 on Bloor Street West between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue. Big on Bloor Fest will explore the theme of “BIZARRE” this year. A theme celebrating aspects of local culture, artistry and community life. There will also be installations led by local BIPOC artists and artisans, art workshops, children’s activities and at night: beer gardens, performances and community markets.

Ossfest 

When: July 26 

Where: Ossington Ave between Dundas St W and Queen St W

Meet me on Ossington and take over the strip with a street fest that screams summer. Until way past the setting sun, enjoy local businesses and artisans taking over, showcasing their goods all day, while 25 extended patios with music and entertainment will fall into the night for a block party you don’t want to miss. Plus, it’s dog and family-friendly! 

Beaches Jazz Festival 

When: July 4-27 

Where: Various locations along the Beaches 

The popular month-long mid-summer festival is coming back to the 6ix. The Beaches Jazz Festival will capture the lakeside Beaches community. Across five venues around the neighbourhood, there will be stage concerts featuring internationally acclaimed jazz performers and local talent and performers at the StreetFest along Queen Street East. If you’re a Jazz music lover, this festival is for you.

Toronto Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) 

When: July 31-Aug 4

Where: Various locations, main event at Exhibition Place

It’s not summer without Caribana! Bringing the heat and the vibes, Caribana is the supreme Caribbean carnival in North America. For five days, don’t miss out on day parties, pool parties, night parties and of course the parade on August 2. The road becomes the stage for masqueraders — wearing the most colourful and extravagant Mas costumes — and steel pan performers. Millions from all over the world visit the city for a celebration of food, music, dance and Caribbean culture.
