DIY Crochet Wall Hanging Tutorial

It’s great way to unlock your creativity and make something with your own hands. Step 1: Chain 21           

Step 2: Single crochet in the second chain from hook and in each chain across, following the graph (found at bottom).

Step 3: Fasten off and weave in ends.

Step 4: Steam block your piece.

Step 5: Wrap yarn for fringe around book 20 times.

Step 6: Cut through one end of wrapped yarn.

Repeat following steps for each piece of yarn until there is fringe along each chain stitch.

Step 7. a) Fold yarn in half.

b) Insert crochet hook through chain stitch.

c) Grab folded loop of yarn with hook.   

d) Pull loop back through the backside, and try to keep tails as even as possible.

e) Using your hook (or your fingers), pull tails of the yarn through the loop.

f) Pull on tail ends to secure fringe.

Step 8: Starting from one end, secure dowel by wrapping yarn around dowel and through each edge stitch. Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Step 9: Tie knot with yarn on one end of the dowel.

Step 10: Measure the desired hanging length and cut the yarn.

Step 11: Tie a knot on the other end of the dowel.

Voila, you have finished this crochet wall hanging all by yourself. It’s a budget-friendly way to brighten up your space, and also makes a great gift idea to showcase your thoughtfulness.
