An exciting new season of Making It Home is right around the corner, so we sat down with Home Network host and contractor, Kenny Brain. You may recognize him from season 2 of Big Brother Canada where he competed for a spot in the house – now, Kenny is reunited with designer Kortney Wilson and headed to Nashville to transform bland houses into picture-perfect homes.

With their design and home reno expertise (and hilarious banter), you won’t want to miss this dynamic duo on Making it Home With Kortney & Kenny on Home Network.

1. Home Sweet Home

Kenny grew up in Newfoundland, the most easterly province of Canada.

2. Passion

When he’s not renovating homes, he’s likely off-grid on his next great adventure. “I am an avid hiker and camper. That is my favourite thing to do. I feel most comfortable in the outdoors, so I’m always looking for a tree to climb or a nice off-the-trail camping spot to discover.”

3. Meet Molly

The absolute love of his life! “My dog, Molly, is my number one.” Kenny got her when he was just 21 and says she’s been through it all with him. “She’s travelled across North America with me, all over Canada, we’ve climbed mountains, crossed rivers, beaches. Everywhere. She goes everywhere with me.”

4. Favourite Hike

One of his all-time favourite trips with Molly (too many to choose from!) was visiting Lake Placid in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. The two went exploring, hiking and swimming.

5. Favourite Food

Two foods Kenny could eat every day: Pizza and cheesecake.

6. Theme Song

When asked what song best describes his life right now, Kenny went with TNT by AC/DC. “It’s been wild! It’s been explosive. It went from me just doing my own thing, building and renovating, to now doing it in front of cameras for Canada. It’s all blown up!” he said with a laugh.

7. Words of Wisdom

We asked, “what’s one piece of advice you’ll never forget?” Kenny replied, “Stay the course. That’s something my dad tells me all the time. It’s to stick with things when they get hard and I think about it all the time.”

8. Sense of Humour

Kenny’s clever Instagram captions had us laughing out loud – he admitted he would describe his sense of humour as dry and dark. “I think we can find humour in most situations. That’s how I like to live my life, a regular caption or a regular photo, there’s always an underlying thing you can laugh about.”

9. Hidden Talent

Not many people know he used to be a competitive swimmer and even placed third best in Canada for backstroke! Nowadays he is a self-proclaimed dog whisperer. A great talent to have.

10. Dream Destination

Now that travel restrictions have lifted, Iceland is at the top of Kenny’s must-visit list.

Keep up with Kenny on Making it Home With Kortney & Kenny  on Home Network, also available on the Global TV App and on STACKTV with Amazon Prime Video Channels and Rogers.
